UK beer on draught?

PostAuthor: nabanga » January 15, 2009, 3:50 pm

I'm coming over the river for a weekend in Udon - are there any places with UK beer on tap? (I've seen John Smiths & Boddingtons in Bangkok so maybe, just maybe Udon?). Thanks

The Clock sells draught beer. Guinness is one of them, I think McCaffrey 's (excuse spelling)is another, but I am not 100% because I have never bought!!

I have NO idea 747. I am more than happy with Leo (it does the intended job) but it wouldn't bet that you are much out with the price.

and this fine beer is still available also on tap, i think.

guiness was 170, possible 180 now, black and tan w/tiger 120 i think. if i switch over to B/T, means i've been there too long already. so consider source, but close enough. :guiness:

AH maybe times have changed a bit now.
I was sat outside a bar last night and a gentleman (?) entered and asked the girl serving "How much for a small Tiger?" (rather than being witty & replying "How small" :D ) she replied "60 baht". To which he said "****ing hell too expensive, I was paying 35 baht in Pattaya this morning" & exited the bar, turning right. As he did she said "Yes, that is the way to the bus station". Which I thought was quite clever & quick....

OK thanks for that - is Kilkenny also at the clock or somewhere else? At 200 a pint it might only be a taste rather than a session...

It is either Kilkenny or McCaffrey 's in The Clock - or one of the Irish smooth ales.
LA has better powers of observation than me (especially concerning food & drink) so he is probably correct. :D :D

Kilkenny and Guinness (160B) at the Clock.

John Smiths is no longer imported to Thailand (thank God, as it is awful), but Tetley's has replaced it I'm happy to say. I don't think the importer has an outlet in Udon, the nearest is Seven's Corner in Khon Kaen according to the importer's website.

I'm not a stranger to forums, as I've been posting on that nasty Teak Door place since it started. There's loads of info to trawl through, so you probably wont hear much from me for a while; at least until I have something positive to contribute anyway.

Kudos for a great looking forum.

Blimey, that was quick

Well I suppose anything to do with beer has to be "something positive" :guiness:
