Here is gift from me:
Last night I had a dream about my dear departed mum. I told my wife about it. She said I should buy a lottery ticket and the numbers should be my mum's birth date...
I'm not sure if I can pass the "luck" on but, here it is: 05/11/20.
Good luck!

Hi,
Regarding U.K. Lottery. It is illegal to buy tickets when you are outside the U.K. I do not know about the Euro Lottery but the heading of this post was U.K. Lottery. States clearly in the rules only people residing in the U.K, Isle of Man, Ireland and Channel Islands can purchase tickets. Got this warning once so now I get my daughter to get my tickets.
Cheers Doug.

Douglas - Where does it state that ?
You cannot play on line from Thailand because gambling is illegal. I got an e mail from the UK lottery warning me against having a flutter on the UK lottery from Thailand before, they warned me that if won I would not be paid out.
I've looked into the rules of playing the UK national lottery on line and the only thing I found about where you can play from is this:
(f) any person who is not permitted to play the Draw-Based Games in the jurisdiction in which they are located

This to me says you can play from wherever you want providing it does not step on the toes of local laws.

in the rules Old t...check the website. its true.

Nothing stopping anyone from buying a ticket i would think,...but to claim you have to be resident of UK.
uk lottery website..
Can I play overseas?

Please remember, you need to be a resident of the UK or Isle of Man at all times when you play UK National Lottery games through your interactive account.

In countries outside of the UK and Isle of Man, local laws often prevent the sale or purchase of tickets for any overseas lottery. To protect players and the UK National Lottery, the National Lottery Rules and Terms and Conditions prohibit people from playing online in any country where it is unlawful to do so. This also means that, under local laws and the rules, we would not be able to pay out any prize in these circumstances.

We would therefore advise you only to buy your tickets online when you are actually located in the UK or the Isle of Man.

This also applies when playing by text.

Douglas is not quite correct...
The rules actually say that only residents of UK etc. can take part, not that you have to be residing there. This may sound like semantics, but it is not.
For example, I am retired from work in UK now and currently on a tourist visa in Thailand. I have not been back to UK for 16 months now, but that does not stop me from being "a resident of the UK". I am entitled to be where ever I like as the holder of a UK passport, I have done nothing to indicate to the UK that I wish to give up residence of the country of my birth.
However, of course, all this is semantics as gambling is illegal in Thailand and so, of course, that would prohibit me of taking part under Thai law, not the laws of the lottery. If, however, I had, for example, purchased a ticket via the internet while on my last visit to Laos then everything would be completely legal & I would be able to claim my 110M.......
Just a thought.... :D :D

The terms and conditions also depend on how you buy the ticket, what BM quoted is for a purchase via the internet.

It should be noted that there are further conditions regarding the location of the bank that you use to pay for a ticket when it is purchased on the internet.

The terms & conditions from the website - not exactly easy reading :(

let me ad my two cents now if you buy a ticket on the net you have to give them the details of your residence and your bank since they are going to make a withdrawal from the bank so now if you win they will want your tax number of S/S number what ever the case may be so they can with draw the tax from the prize you with me so far so then you instruct them to deposit your winning in to the account on which they took the payment from and then you fly home and live the life you always dreamed of correct me if I am wrong
PS of course you have to have residence in the country you purchased the lottery ticket and thailand laws has no affect since it not done in thailand it done on the internet
