Vasectomy

PostAuthor: Buffalo Soldier » July 22, 2008, 1:54 am

I am sorry if this is too personal an issue for somebody to talk about on here. My wife and I have come to the agreement that we do not want more children so I have opted to be the one to have a vasectomy.

As we return to Udon soon I am thinking of having it done there. I have great experience with AEK Udon in the past.

Can anybody recommend a good place and if you can give me an idea of cost.

If you do not wish to discuss it is open forum pm or email me at:

BB

Its recommended that u have some sperm storage.

Below is the reference from the Theraputic Guidelines for GP's in Australia.

Vasectomy

Australasia has among the highest vasectomy rates in the world. Vasectomy is quick, simple, safe and highly effective. Relative contraindications include risks from office-type surgery (bleeding, anaesthetic allergy) or scrotal pathology (keloid-prone, groin scarring or active infection). Conventional vasectomy performed under local anaesthesia via scrotal incisions involves excising a segment of vas deferens and ideally interposing a fascial barrier between the occluded cut ends to minimise risk of recanalisation. It is highly effective once sperm are cleared from the distal vas deferens but flushing during surgery does not accelerate sperm clearance. Additional contraception must continue until azoospermia is demonstrated or, less reliably, at least 3 months have passed. Late failure may occur due to spontaneous vas recanalisation (0.1%). Vasectomy causes no consistent changes in circulating hormones, sexual function or risk of cardiovascular, prostate or malignant disease. Sperm antibodies develop in most vasectomised men but have no known deleterious health effects apart from a possible role in reducing fertility after vasectomy reversal.

The major drawback of vasectomy is its limited reversibility and sperm storage should be offered as part of the procedure. Following microsurgical vaso-vasostomy, 80% to 100% have sperm return to the ejaculate (

I can not address the issue personally since I have never had it done but my experience with AEK was not good. It seems paulo hospital has been given good reviews in here. so in my personal opinion I would get quotes from a few hospitals such has how long will I have to stay in hospital
also cost and follow up care and I am sure other poster can give you good advice

You're right aznyron, you did NOT address the issue... so why the post?? :?

I had my vasectomy a little over 45 years ago and it was strictly an out-patient procedure performed in my doctors office/clinic... no hospital needed. Got up from the table, got dressed and proceeded to get into my car and drive 60 miles back to my home - with a plastic bag of ice between my legs to keep the swelling to a minimum.

For Buffalo Soldier, there is an excellent urologist at Udon Hosp. every Tues as an out-patient doctor. His name is Dr. Thawat and I've seen him on a couple of occasions - his English is quite good and I'm sure he probably has a clinic in town as well.

C'mon aznyron, being an ex-swabby you should know the correct title is "Command Master Chief".

as mentioned before, the dr is more important than the hospital. guessing he works at one of the others also, at higher cost. the procedure really is very routine, also had done in docs office about 10 yrs ago. follow instructions, relax the rest of the day and you should have no problems. one of the best things i've ever done. no surprises for me, and since you have kids, you are set up already.

best of luck.

It is a simple procedure that only takes a few minutes. Many people seem to be fine with just an ice pack for a day or two after the procedure. Very simple. No worries as long as you have a competent doctor and staff.

Bank some sperm. Since for all practical purposes, a vasectomy is permanent (reversals don't work all that often, especially a few years after the vasectomy), and the nature fo life is change. Bank some and then you and your wife will have options later on. Or you will have options, if for some unfortunate reason, you are no longer with your wife.

And yes, its good that you two decided that you are the one to have the vasectomy, because your wife doesn't have a Vas deferens to cut :)

SPECIAL, JUST FOR YOU.

As for those free vasectomies? The Population and Community Development Association offers them to any man, any nationality, who has fathered two children already. How's that for a good deal?

It's at the very bottom of the article.

Depending on your age using a sperm bank is probably a good idea but not knowing anything about the Thai system I'd do that in the UK.

I'm saying that because I had my Vasectomy some 22 years ago. After marrying my TW 7 years ago her first whim was to have a baby, I had 'no bank account' and NO chance of reversal. Personally I didn't want to go through another child raising program at my age so it was OK for me. TW now has a working career here in the boonies and I think she is happy with the outcome. Her own 13 yo daughter and my two daughters who love her is really enough.

Even back then the operation was a breeze, I was back at work the following day be it the family jewels nestled into a cotton wool nest like a pair of fragile eggs.

I had a vasectomy done around about 1976. My first wife Somchai and I decided that 3 sons was enough. After doing a little research on whether she have her tubes tied or me having a vasectomy. She would have endured a little more pain than me, so I did the vasectomy, went on a Friday, ice pack for 3 days, back to work on Monday. No sex for 6 weeks......hehehehe I didn't wait that long...horny little cuss I was. Everything turned out ok. Glad I had it done, TW now wanted have a baby by me. Let's see, do a reversal if successful, can produce in about a year. I would be about 58 - 60 yrs old when the the baby came. By the time he is 10, I'll be almost 78!!!!!!! Hell now!!!!! no more kids. If I can't hand them back to the parents when they rotten, then don't need them.

No such animal Ronnie, just plain ole Sergeant Major or Master Gunnery Sergeant. Both E-9's, one serves the administrative side and the other technical field. CSM is Army lingo...woof woof, right Pops :D

Back on topic. I was going to get the big V, but the wife ended up getting the procedure when she had our last child.

Thank you for the replies gentlemen... I asked in AEK Udon on Monday and I am discussing it with me wife. She is not 100% sure, I am. She really wants a louk-krung possibly in 5 years. Even the past couple of days I look at older men here pushing baby buggies around and it scares me. 50+ with a new baby, no thanks.

Dankjewel.
