Went for the renewal today in Nong Kia

Had in hand bank letter stating my funds came for outside Thailand, with each deposit listed the total amount currently in the account.

Letter from my Embassy

Copy of the house papers

Copies of every page in my pasport

Two new photos

Now last year I had the medical certificate , the didn't want it, this year I didn't have so they asked for it

They were happy with the paperwork, just wanted the medical certiifcate. This is my third renewal so I have laerne to hedge my bet adn I went a day early so it's no big deal I will just go to AEK Udon tomorrow morning an get everything done at once.

I know that there ha been lots of questions about the requiremetn of the money in the bank. Out of three times I have only had the rquirmered amount int he account and the otehr times it has been based on the monthly deposits.

My account at the moment only has 42 K in it, but I have deposited a 100 K a month for a year now. ( we bought a house this year)

So tomorrow I will answer that question, if I get the visa they are following the law 400K or 40K a month or a combination that adds up to 400K. The first time I was single and it was based on 65K a month. But note all the other documents that were required as listed above were submitted the first time.

Yes I got my Annual visa in Nong Kia, but I had to go to Lao and obtain my Non O immigrant visa first as I had came on a tourist visa.

Sometimes it is not the guy you talk to that makes visa issues complicated there are many different kinds of visas and the requirments for each can very. So it can be diificult to anwer questions for guys who are not using the sane visa as you.

A German guy stopped me downtown the other day aking me about a Non immigrant O that required him to leave every ninety days, his year was up. He wanted to know if he could renew it in Nong Kia or would he have to leave. Now you got to wonder a bit i didn't knw this guy had never mat him and he asking me to give him advice about his visa. Truth is I think I knew he answer. But, I told him to go to immigration and ask them.

When it comes to visas I will only relate my experience as it applies to the type of visa I have.

Anyway I will post my experience as to the required funds for the annual or sometimes known a married to a Thia , in my case now, after I finish up tomorrow.

Ok This is a repeat of the posting that went last night and I actually read it on forum after, now its gone. Can't think its been moderated out, it wasn;t in any way controversial. read for yourself.
Went to do my annual renewal of retirement visa today. 2 hours in queue, then 20 minutes in office, came out good to June 2007 , no problems.Whilst in there though another person was making request for renewal of marriage visa. Imm asked him where was his wife? He said , couldn't come, working. At this they produced a letter from his wife to them and with a smile on his face proceeded to tell him the contents. She descibed him as a drunken womaniser and gave name and details of his latest fling. went on to say she has now left him and gone to Bangkok, never to return. she won't divorce him as she will get a pension if he dies.
Well the guy was almost in tears and asked what can he do. Imm told him either produce the extra money and apply for a retirement visa or leave the country within 2 weeks.Fortunately he was old enough to do this, but whether he could raise the money needed was another story. So guys there is a moral here for all you marriage visa men, be very ,very careful, your fling could put you back in your home country.Expensive what?
A woman scorned and all that

Wow, that is scary. It does put into perspective just how much control your wife can have and another good reason to keep my income levels above the single requirement.

I guess it still gets down to you play you may have to pay dearly.

Sometimes I think guys cofuse playing at the bar with relationship, sure most of the time the bar girl doesn't care what you do but that is a business with no more comittment then the money paid.

In most long term relationships I really don't see that Thai women are really all theat different then ladies anywhere.

Good resaon not to cause your wife to lose face here HUH :?

Mine was the original post maybe it was deleted because it showed up as a duplicate, it was from last month
