Video Capture

PostAuthor: Kudjap or Bust » November 19, 2007, 2:59 pm

More help please.

My family in the UK have asked if I can send them a short video of the kids etc...No problem if I had a video camera but I don't...But I do have a webcam that I use with Skype.
How do I use the webcam to capture video to send them, what program will do this... I've looked on my PC but there doesn't seem to be any program with the Vista package.

Most webcams will have their own software and that can include an option to take a still image or capture a video.

I don't have one now but my old one was Logitech so if I wanted to make a video I would open the Logitech program and simply click on the video (Quickcapture?) button.

What make and type is your webcam?

Its also a logitech, have no clue as to the model number but it's a white ball with blue lens surround and top. I don't have a CD with it as it was given to me. When I installed it the PC automatically found the driver.

Can you tell me what the logitech program is called and I'll go search for it on the free download sites.

Thanks

That Quickcapture gadget that Bob linked to seems to be it.

Kudjap, does your camera have a USB connection? If so, plug it into a USB port on your computer, and it should tell you the camera model.

Then go to the Logitech website -maybe start here

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/405/& ... odcrid=405

and find the software. However, it may take a while to download eg the software for my camera (model Quickcam Pro 4000) is over 70 Mb.

If you can't find it here, try googling something like "logitech (model number) camera software vista".

yes our digi camera can take movies but its so old they are limited to 15 secs, I know, I must upgrade it with a newer version. I tried the TW's mobile as well but the quality wasn't that good
