Is there a different requirement for RENEWING a retirement visa to renewing a marriage one, apart from the money aspect?I have noticed several posters state they had to wait varying lengths of time for the visa(passport) to come back from Bangkok. I have had a retirement visa and am shortly going to go for the 5th comsecutive yearly renewal, and each time it has taken no longer than one hour to do, on the premises. No being sent anywhere, in fact never going out of my site.Is this sending away genuine, a new rule perhaps, or is it a delaying, pass the buck, tactit.? :?:

Paul,

I reckon that guy in Korat has seen your naval stud and pink knickers.

We warned you they would get you in trouble.

Gary.

Sorry Gary you are wrong again - I have told you many times before - Its a thong , its not knickers ! LOL

The noises I am hearing off the record (and seem more believable) is that they have checked my bank account prior to issuing the approval stamp and discovered it is now substantially below the 400,000 mark - and I guess they have assumed (wrongly) that immediately after the application was submitted I began transfering the money out of Thailand again.
Nobody will admit to secret (off the record) checking of bank details though. That would explain the stupid petty excuse they found for rejecting my application.

Certainly one to remember!
