I thought it might be a good idea to have an immigration thread with just confirmed information on it so that people can know what has officially been released.Posts on here often start with "word on the street" or "i am hearing" So far all we have in print is:

http://www.lawyer.th.com/National_Polic ... t_2006.pdf

Over time hopefully we will have a chronological list of all immigration output.

If you read section 7.17 sub section 6 of the above link you have the following:

"In case of the applicant who is
married to a Thai wife, one of them
or both of them need to have the
total annual income that is
averaged out not less than 40,000
Baht per month"

The evidence required is:

evidences of personal income of either
party or both that shows the total
income of both parties not less than
40,000 Baht per month, such as the
evidence of the personal income tax
filing and the receipt.

So you get the wife to file an income tax return and present it and the receipt to immigration.

Why do we need so many threads about the same thing? ie. new visa rules, latest visa rules, etc.
After 10 pages, we now start again mai? :?

It was a good idea, but in Thailand the facts or laws are interpreted by the individual official you are dealing with! Even if you have a fact sheet in hand,it probably would not do any good, once that official has made a statement,it is fact and there will be no losing face by changing the statement
