Vitamins etc

PostAuthor: jackspratt » February 22, 2007, 12:43 pm

I have done a quick forum search, but cannot find any information on this.

Are products such as multi-vitamins, fish oil capsules etc readily available in Udon and/or NK?

My tilak can't remember seeing any, and in fact took back a stack of fish oil caps when she went home to LOS recently.

Thanks

jack

There are tons of them at Boots or Dawsons in the Complex in Udon.

They have everything from Vitamin C to Ginko Biloba Extract.

also there is a good pharmacy second floor,go up the escalator near KFC turn right at the top ,you will see 3 gold shops and the pharmacy is just next to there, cant miss it. he speaks english very well...so if you want anything just ask him ;)

Thanks guys - helpful advice as usual.

As to farang and his sharp eyes, I generally enter the forum through the Udonmap.com main page (rather than the forum main page), so don't take make notice of what topic I am in. #-o But I will in future.

And for Stan's edification, it's affectionately known as "vitamin V" for a good reason :D

For the smokers out there, you should take Vitamin C everyday, as smoking depletes your reserves of Vit C. Also, take the natural stuff - it is more expensive, but it is much much better for you. Good Vit C is the king of vitamins and will boost your immune system so you can fight colds and infections and when you do get sick, you will recover faster.

Also, you can never overdose on Vit c, as if you do take too much, your body will pass it out naturally when you pee (that's why it is yellow if you take too many vitamin C or multi vitamin Tablets).

:D

Yes, Boots & Watsons do carry most vitamins & supplements. However, they are more expensive than if you got them in your country. I suggest stocking up before you come.

But beware of customs with rubber gloves, if they spot stocks of bottles with pill shaped vitamins that rattle around inside your luggage.

Well, maybe things have changed on arrival here in LOS. The last time I arrived from the U.S. (2 1/2 years ago), I had probably around $300USD worth of different vitamins, supplements, herbal stuff, etc. Plus a lot of other goodies. No problems, back then. No one bothered to look inside my luggage.
Are they inspecting arriving lugguge now?
