Warfarin clinics.

PostAuthor: PhilR » August 17, 2008, 10:24 am

I am hoping to retire to Udon Thani in 2 years. I have recently had a new mechanical heart valve, and have to take the drug warfarin. This is a volatile drug needing minimum of monthly blood tests to check on its effect. If the blood is too thin or too thick, it can lead to very serious health problems. Has anyone experience of having their INR checked in Udon hospitals and clinics, as this would be very important should I be permantly living there.

Phil

Most of the hospitals here will be able do this for you without any problems.

Thanks for that. i just wondered if anyone was actually on warfarin and i don't know,to be able to say how the hospitals specifically deal with the drug. The biggest problem with the drug however, is you can only drink alcohol in moderation, and sadly, Thai hospitals won't be able to help me with that!
