Friskies Cat Food Display Attacked By UDD
UDON THANI – Store managers and shoppers at a local Tops Supermarket reported an incident where disgruntled UDD supporters attacked and destroyed a cat food display in another of a string of apparent cases of mistaken identity happening across the country.
The display, which constituted a pyramid-shaped stack of yellow-colored Friskies cat food boxes, was demolished at around 3:00 pm Wednesday by a group of six or seven persons wearing red shirts and shouting anti-government slogans.
According to witnesses, the group then stomped on the yellow boxes and threatened a promotional girl who had been handing out coupons and wearing a sexy yellow dress and cat ears. The girl was not harmed, however, as store managers and two male shoppers intervened and pulled her to safety.
A sample stand of Friskies Hairball Remedy Moist Cat Treats was also targeted. Tops management estimates the total damage at 340 baht. As yet, no arrests have been made in the case.
Although the store has not yet hired additional security personnel, a Knorr display has been taken down as a precaution.
