Food for the brain....

Okay, I have just been converted and am a loyal fan of the WWE.

This is my favourite sport.

I love wrestling.

This sort of stuff is what life is all about.....55555

Thanks BM, I would have never known what was missing in my life without your kind assistance

Play it again Sam...Samantha...or whatever...this is high-class material.

My life has been enriched beyond measure.55555

Not to diminish the sport for die-hard fans but these guys have a bad habit of dropping to
the deck because they've been chewing steroids like candy? You just don't get that big
naturally. Hey! I saw "the wrestler" with mickey rourke and marisa tomei. good flick.

It's fascinating to think that the whole roadshow is put together at venues across the USA (weekly, monthly) and beyond, the marketing machine behind these show's is awesome.

It is a amazing to think that the legacy of the circus life has settled on televised wrestling where everything is scripted, rehearsed and broadcast to an eager fan base.

I took my boy to the WWE show in Bangkok last year (he's 10), and he absolutely loved it and picked Batista's autograph. It now rests pride of place next to the picture of the 'THE UNDERTAKER'.

The show itself was bit theatre, a bit circus and a bit broadway show with thumps, bumps and gasps. I thought I'd hate it but I found a good laugh if you got into the spectacle of it. :D

On the subject of wrestling, here's some classic footage of Big Daddy vs Giant Haystacks in the 70's.

Sock it to em. LOL

World of Sport schedule.....

A typical edition would be broadcast between 1215 and 1710 and would take on the following format. [1]

1230 On The Ball - football preview with Brian Moore and in later years Ian St. John and Jimmy Greaves.
1300 Sports Special 1 - A wide array of sports, often including clips from US show Wide World of Sports. Less prominent sports such as bowls, water skiing, speedway, rallying and others would also feature.
1330 Racing, The ITV Seven.
1500 Sports Special 2 - see Sports Special 1.
1545 Half-Time Scores - the half-time scores from that day's football, plus racing results from races that had taken place in the previous hour.
1600 Wrestling - a mainstay of the World of Sport schedule from 1955 until it ended. Many of the wrestlers featured became household names in the UK and the greatest rivalry was between Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks
1645 Results Service - all the full-time football scores, match reports and league tables plus the last of the day's horse racing results.
