Yellow Tabien Bahn Process

PostAuthor: papaguido » June 27, 2007, 9:16 am

Next week I'm going up to where ever (เทศบาลนครอุดร) it is to apply/register for Tabien Bahn. I believe I have what is required. Any advise from the local experts (Doc)? :D

Let the TW take care of it, you will be going to the Udon Thani Municipality. I know you will have to have your passport with non-immigration O visa. I'm pretty sure TW will need her tambien or that of the owner of the permanent address, TW's or the owner of the permanent address national ID card, and proof of permanent address. There wasn't much paper work and I'm not really sure of the cost of it but it was really a simple process, even changing the address. I used my sister-in-law's address, until we changed everything to the new location of Pop-Pop's I-cafe. I did take a copy of my tambien with new address to AEK Udon to do my 90 days. He didn't want it and said see you in 90 days.

Thanks Cliff,

Yeah wife said it wasn't difficult, typical "mai pen rai honey" attitude. But I like having details which my wife doesn't have :D

Cliff I think you are being overly simplistic. Whilst it isn,t difficult to do, it does involve a lot of paperwork. I have just dug the paperwork from the file for the last application my wife helped on, it runs to 24 sheets of paper. It includes full details of the applicant, his wife, her house details, and is countersigned by two government officials. :D

Gee Val, mine was just as simple as Cliff suggests. My wife did all the paperwork (much less than 24 pages) and all I had was my passport with current visa. The only hassle was we had to return 2 days later to actually receive the yellow book. Piece of cake. 8)

I guess things have changed, not how much paper work is involved, the TW did all the work. Bless the TW's sweet heart, now wish she get her dang thumb print off my head.   The original tambien took a couple of days, but, the change of address and a new tambien issued, took a couple hours.

You can buy and register a car, install telephone, etc. without having a letter each time from Immigration. If you live in the city you apply at the Tesaban (City Hall).

Wow!! wonder why in 30 years I never got one. Might be because in that time I have only installed 2 telephones and bought 2 cars. Oh and 2 motorbikes.

Well for me Ray, I was under the impression that the Tabien Bahn was another check in the box for long term residency here. While researching this on TV I've read mixed reviews on the advantages of having a house book. Some claim that it's help them meet the requirements in lieu of Proof of Residency letter from Immigration, entering national parks paying the Thai fee and as Mackayae stated in his post. Ultimately, I think it's a case by case basis with whom ever individual or agency one is dealing with. As they say TIT.

some parks accept it for thai fee, most don't. some have taken my license. but lately, i don't even try, since last time denied. i am not going to pay 400, 200 was a stretch. so if it isn't on the way i'm going, i'm not going out of my way to get a no. the parks simply aren't worth it. nothing better than the free ride aroound the country. i vote yes, get the doc, alwasys nice to have. but have yourself put on as owner, not resident,
